Stephen Hawking,world renowned physicist,cosmologist and author has died at the age of 76.He died peacefully at his home in Cambridge in the early hours of Wednesday said his Family but no more further details were provided.
Stephen Hawking was the former Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge .He is also the author of the International best seller ‘ A Brief History of Time ‘.Hawking was the Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge.He was also famous for his work with black holes and relativity.

Professor Stephen William Hawking was born on 8th January 1942 in Oxford, England.Stephen Hawking was born as the eldest of Frank and Isobel Hawking’s four children.He attended University College, Oxford, where he studied physics, despite his father’s urging to focus on medicine.
In 1963,when Hawking was 21 years old ,he had a rare early-onset slow-progressing form of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neurone disease or Lou Gehrig’s disease, that gradually paralyzed him over the decades.The illness left him wheelchair-bound and largely unable to speak except through a voice synthesiser. He was given only two years to live.Yet he went on to Cambridge to become a brilliant researcher and Professorial Fellow at Gonville and Caius College.
Professor Hawking has over a dozen honorary degrees.He was awarded Companion of Honour (1989) and the Presidential Medal of Freedom (2009). He was the recipient of many awards, medals and prizes, most notably the Fundamental Physics prize (2013), Copley Medal (2006) and the Wolf Foundation prize (1988).He was a fellow of the Royal Society and a member of the US National Academy of Science. Stephen Hawking was regarded as one of the most brilliant theoretical physicists since Einstein.

Hawking’s life story was the subject of the 2014 film The Theory of Everything, starring Eddie Redmayne.
